Reflection
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the most confused of all?
An unrecognized glance and by chance we are doomed to fall.
A shared affliction of non-recognition and mistaken identity,
When the human condition confuses rendition for a completely separate entity.
A soiled mirror casts an odd image of me, making it a hindrance to see.
Soon I’m blinded and in time find it hard to believe that it’s me.
So I and my image soon find no forgiveness and discover a tendency toward hatred.
The dirtier things become, the farther we are from the knowledge that we can’t be separated.
Circumstance and condition have soiled my vision and ability to obtain a clear view.
So what I do is divide my beautiful “US” into a confusing “ME and You.”
I remain half the puzzle and my dirty image completes my God-given team.
If these eyes could only realize that the image isn’t tainted, the mirror just needs to be cleaned!
