Here
The darkness envelops me as I sit here alone.
The cold stillness of this night seems all my own.
Deep within myself I search and find an oddity.
In a place so crowded, I'm all alone...just me!
But loneliness is a place that I've journeyed before.
Times when the coarseness of the crowd becomes a bore.
Then trickles of the past fall from my eyes.
Crystal clear uncertainty in dewdrop size.
Afraid of the future but unsure of the past.
I'm caught between...no shadow I cast!
The proudest moments in my life I cannot recall.
How could one fall so short, who once stood so tall.
But this night when the weather and the soul is cold.
When the wind howls, leaves rattle and tears flow.
I stop to think as I catch a tear.
The most growing up that I've done, I've done here!
