Modern-Day Babylon

The brazen skyline shimmers in the blazing sun like Pharaohs obelisks once did.

Providing momentary shade from the battering heat, for the homeless high school kids.

Power Brokers move mountains while scanning the clamor from the view of a penthouse suite.

The luckless lot with their boxes and bags traverse the treadmill up and down Main Street.

Average, working citizens are strapped to would-be felonies to add to the local economy.

While the preacher speaks to a million tithers from his mega-church and quotes Deuteronomy.

Neighbors awake to engage each other in a daily battle of jealousy, hatred and acquisition.

Homeless families find themselves again on cold, crowded shelter floors, jockeying for position.

Leaders of born followers usher the masses further into the blinding abyss of the great divide.

An HIV child curls herself next to her mother’s lifeless corpse; tears cascading from her eyes.

The employed and the unemployed exchange judgmental stares as they wait in the check-out line.

Unknowingly predestined to change perspectives and positions all in just a matter of time.

A heavily medicated world is unaware of the establishment of a dark kingdom in their midst.

Hatred and pagan ritual have become fads, concealing the obvious fact that the beast exists.

Behold the pale horse and the fabled rider that sits upon him is surely the root of all evil.

The true catalyst of war, conflict, ignorance pain the intentional separation of all people.

Observe how ignorance and ambition are utilized to form the perfect mind-control device.

The binding chains of greed propel the laziest of men to require something subservient in life.

Thus the attitude of superiority is born, completing the process for wealth to reach the top.

The bottom dwellers battle a million, petty, screaming voices lacking wisdom to make them stop.

Those with wisdom and sight are quickly declared insane or incompetent without resistance.

So the masses follow like sheep, the carefully laid plans of their carefully constructed existence.

Paperback promises continue to flow from the tips of twisted lips and hot, forked tongues.

The righteous kingdom awaits its turn, while LOVE finds itself feeble and on the run

“Those with wisdom and sight are quickly declared insane or incompetent without resistance.”

Geesh You’re right. In Scripture, true wisdom is often dismissed as madness. The prophets were called crazy, Jesus Himself was accused of having a demon, and Paul was told his great learning made him insane. People fear what exposes their blindness.

Those with God-given sight are often rejected—not because they’re wrong, but because the truth they carry is too heavy for those who refuse to see.
